Limed Oak - C2A
£70.00
Traditional Limed Oak Finish
Lime was originally used to protect the wood from invasive insect damage. It has now become a popular finish, lightening the wood to a more modern look.
We first sand the moulding by hand, and then apply the lime followed quickly by a clear wax. We then polish the moulding to achieve a soft sheen.
The look that we want to achieve is that the liming only sits in the open grain of the wood. So often we see that the whole surface is covered by a solid "wash" of white. This is not correct.
We have given a price for a 20 by 16 inch frame. Please call for further prices.
